The spectator freely selects any one of the five ESP symbols. There is absolutely no force. The performer displays a Poker Chip, blank on both sides and drops it into a small pay envelope.

The spectator is asked to concentrate on his selected symbol, as the envelope with the blank chip is held to his forehead. When the spectator subsequently opens the envelope, an impression of his selected design is found to have transferred onto the chip, engraved on it.

The performer displays five window envelopes, approx 4 inch x 6 inch in size.

The envelopes have the ESP symbols on the four corners. Inside the envelopes are large cards, bearing similar symbols, clearly visible through the windows. The cards are removed from the envelopes, turned back up and mixed. The envelopes are also turned over and mixed, so that no one can tell which envelope or card is where. A spectator is now asked to pair the cards with the envelopes, as per their wish or intuition. He or she merely selects a card and an envelope, and the selected card is placed in the selected envelope. When all the five cards have been placed in the envelopes, these are turned over, and all the symbols have been correctly matched.

The props are absolutely innocent in appearance, but cleverly gimmicked to make the effect possible without any force, sleight of hand or difficult move. A direct and strong mental effect, for close up or a cabaret or platform act, with the envelopes placed upright on an improvised stand, this is easy to perform.

Performer shows four jumbo size Aces (Ace of Spades, Ace of Hearts, Ace of Clubs and Ace of Diamonds) to the spectators. He mixes the cards and puts them inside four envelopes, so that the spectators cannot keep track of which one is which. He also displays four small size Aces and mixes them. He puts them inside the four envelopes with the jumbo cards, according to the free choice of the spectators. When he removes the jumbo and small size Aces from the envelopes the suites of every pair match!

No forces - easy to do with the special props supplied.

This is repeated with two more spectators. The three spectators are asked to stand. The performer instructs the spectators to sit down if they hear their color name called out. After calling out three different colors, all the spectators sit down to a well deserved ovation.

This is a routine idea based on “The Tossed Out Deck” by David Hoy from his manuscript, “The Bold and Subtle Miracles of Dr. Faust. He uses a one-way forcing deck with an indifferent card at the bottom. The “Tossed Out Crayons” uses Chris Mitchell’s Psychic Crayons, and plenty of showmanship.

Take out your box of “Psychic Crayons,” open the top, and show them to the audience to be different colors. Close the top and hand them to the first spectator. Instruct them to remove ONE crayon, memorize the COLOR NAME, place the crayon back in the box, and close the cover. Take the crayons back, and repeat this process with two more spectators. Take the box of crayons back, ask the spectators to stand, have them concentrate on their colors, and instruct them to sit down if they hear their color name. Here is where showmanship is key. With your eyes, quickly scan the three spectators as you call out a random color, your force color, and another random color. They will all sit after hearing their color name. This effect can also be improved by mixing two different boxes of “Chris Mitchell’s Psychic Crayons” (Melon and Orchid) Making it a two-way force. You would then call out Melon, A random color, and Orchid. Crayons can also be used to replace the cards in “Chris Mitchell’s Long Distance Card Trick.”
